TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

All the rights and obligations which derive for employees from the commitment they have entered into to perform work. (The English term "working conditions", sometimes used misleadingly in this context, refers to the physical features of the work environment.)

Key terms and conditions of employment can in principle be changed only by mutual agreement between the parties to the contract of employment . If a major change is made unilaterally to any key terms and conditions (e.g. a major change to agreed working hours , to agreed pay or to the place of work ), this constitutes an unlawful termination of the employment contract. Even a temporary change has this effect: the change need not necessarily be a permanent and irrevocable one.
