On 21 and 22 October 2020, representatives of EU policy makers, research, business and the social partners will meet at the Beyondwork 2020 online conference to discuss, exchange views, network and learn from each other. The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) will host the conference under the banner of the German Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Eurofound will be running a panel session at the event on 21 October on the topic of platform work.
Eurofound’s Head of Employment Irene Mandl will be presenting the agency’s research findings on platform work and will be joining in a live discussion with guests Joscha Moeller, platform worker; Yannis Sidiropoulos, policy advisor at Hellenic Federation of Enterprises, SEV; Thorkild Holmboe-Hay policy and communications advisor at the Danish trade union 3F and Uma Rani, senior economist at the International Institute of Labour Studies, International Labour Organization (ILO).
The conference will examine questions such as:
- What does the transformation of work mean for people?
- How can companies best prepare their employees? and
- How is each European country reacting to the process of change?
