11 June 2013 - 12 June 2013
Event background
11 - 12 June 2013, Dublin, Ireland
Venue: Dublin Castle, The Printworks and Castle Yard
The high-level conference is organised by Enterprise Ireland and is supported by the European Commission Directorate for Research and Innovation. It is one of a series of events being held under the auspices of the Irish EU presidency.
Objectives
The conference will take a closer look at what it takes to be a thriving entrepreneur in the 21st century, how small companies can compete effectively in an increasingly globalised world, and how they can gain maximum benefit from existing and future private and public support mechanisms. The event will spotlight Horizon 2020, the EU’s upcoming Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, which is less than one year away from its official launch. It also provides an opportunity to make a difference – or help entrepreneurs to make a difference – and shape the EU Innovation Agenda.
The following themes will structure the 2-day event:
Visions of innovation in the 21st century
SMEs in a networked world
Supporting innovative SMEs in their ambition to grow
Horizon 2020 and SMEs
Eurofound contribution
Irene Mandl, Research Manager, European Monitoring Centre on Change, will take part in the Panel Discussion - The power of new business models on Tuesday 11 June at 11.30.
