Background
This conference will discuss how local and regional authorities can improve education and respond to the need for more flexible careers, contributing this way to Europe's growth strategy. The event is primarily aimed at policy makers and senior experts of national, regional and local public administrations as well as employment specialists from academia, networks and associations. The conference will be hosted by the Irish Presidency of the Council of the EU and is organised in parallel with the CoR Bureau meeting.
Eurofound contributions
On 28 February in the morning, before the official opening of the conference, the participants will visit Eurofound and will be welcomed by Juan Menéndez-Valdés, Director of Eurofound, who will deliver the opening speech. John Hurley, Research Manager, Employment and Change will talk about EU employment shifts by sector, occupation and skills level, while Irene Mandl, Research Manager, Employment and Change will present Eurofound’s future work on restructuring at regional level.
