Europe makes a difference - challenges for the European Social Model
Dublin Castle, 29–30 August, 2002
This Bulletin board is now closed. Thank you to those who contributed your ideas and questions into the debate during the Foundation Forum, Europe makes a difference - Challenges for the European Social Model, 29-30 August 2002.
Europe is facing challenges of globalisation, new technologies and the enlargement of the European Union. It must adapt to rapid social changes such as the ageing of the population and workforce, as well as changing employment and family patterns. How can Europe deal with these challenges? Are there inherent conflicts between the different policy areas?
Our web users were invited to tell the Foundation and the speakers (high-level politicians, trade unionists and employer representatives, researchers and other thinkers), what you considered to be important. Questions from the Bulletin Board were introduced into the debate during the Forum. Summaries of the discussion are now available.
