Abstract
Az idősebbeket általában az önkéntes tevékenységek kedvezményezettjeinek szokás tekinteni. Az önkéntes szolgáltatások valószínűleg tényleg egyre fontosabb szerepet fognak játszani tekintettel azokra a jelentős kiadáscsökkentésekre, amelyek a gazdasági válság nyomán a szociális ellátás állami rendszerét (a szolgáltatásokat és juttatásokat) sújtják. Ugyanakkor egyre inkább előtérbe kerül, hogy az idősek a bennük rejlő potenciált kihasználva maguk is önkéntes segítők lehetnének.
