Occupational Safety and Health stocktaking Summit

The European Commission and the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the EU have jointly reviewed the progress of the Commission’s Strategic Framework on Health and Safety at Work 2021–2027 at a summit on 15–16 May 2023. This summit’s discussions focused on mental health in working life, the role of the social partners, the vision zero approach to work-related deaths, the effects of heatwaves and climate change in the field of occupational safety and health and evaluation of national occupational safety and health strategies. The programme also included a study visit. The meeting gathered politicians at ministerial or state-secretary level from all Member States, the EU institutions and experts in the field of occupational safety and health.

Eurofound’s Agnès Parent-Thirion, Senior Research Manager in the Working Life unit, took part in the panel on Climate change and heatwaves and OSH, highlighting Eurofound research on job quality and the green transition.
