Background
The International Society for Quality-of-Life Studies (ISQOLS) and the Free University Berlin (FU Berlin) have invited researchers from all disciplines, policy makers and practitioners from across the globe to participate in the 2014 Quality of Life Conference 'Sustaining Quality of Life across the Globe'. This interdisciplinary ISQOLS conference will be hosted at the Free University in Berlin, in conjunction with the departments of psychology, sociology, and economics and in cooperation with the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin).
ISQOLS is a multidisciplinary society encouraging the pursuit of quality of life studies and application. This international group convenes regularly to share ideas and findings, and actively supports the dissemination of findings and thoughts via its various publications. Topics will include the issues of happiness, well-being, living conditions and quality of life over the life cycle, and many other dimensions of quality of life.
Eurofound contributions
Tadas Leoncikas, Research Manager, Living Conditions and Quality of life unit, will be chairing the session on Quality of Life in the EU enlargement countries as well as introducing the newly published Eurofound report Trends in quality of life in Turkey 2003-2012.
Tadas Leoncikas will also make a presentation on Trust in national vs municipal institutions: patterns in the EU and enlargement countries in the session on Regional and Cross-National Perspectives of Well-Being.
Joanna Napierala, Research Officer, Living Conditions and Quality of life unit, will speak on Lessons learned from the application of Multidimensional Item Response Theory to European Quality of Life Survey data in the session on Statistical Applications for QoL-Research.
