On 1 February, Eurofound’s Executive Director Ivailo Kalfin joined the European Parliament’s Employment and Social Affairs Committee meeting to present the Agency’s work programme 2022, while also highlighting results and impact achieved in 2021.
Mr Kalfin emphasised Eurofound’s recently published and ongoing work linked to the just transition and the Agency’s partnership with the European Environmental Agency in Copenhagen on the social and employment impact of climate change as well as the results of and plans for upcoming Living, working and COVID-19 survey rounds. Other highly anticipated areas of work for Eurofound are platform work as well as social dialogue in the context of the revision of the EWC. Similarly, with a view to the opened trilogue on minimum wages, Eurofound’s ED will update the MEPs on Eurofound’s pilot project in this area. Gender equality, care and youth are other topics high on the policy agenda. Lastly, an update on previous and upcoming work on teleworking was provided.
In terms of results and impact in 2021, Eurofound’s key performance indicators (KPIs) showed consistent and upwards trends across almost all values. For instance, budget implementation continues to be close to 100%, while the number of engagements as well as references in policy documents, the media and scientific articles increased compared to 2020.
This exchange of views with the Executive Directors of the Agencies under the EMPL remit (Eurofound, Cedefop, EU-OSHA, ETF and ELA) is a standing annual appointment.
The meeting and various presentations from all EMPL sister agencies, including questions and answers, will be live streamed and can be watched below:
