Rovnováha mezi pracovním a soukromým životem představuje uspokojivý stav vyváženosti mezi pracovním a soukromým životem jednotlivce. Umožnit pracovníkům v průběhu celého života lepší rovnováhu mezi pracovním a soukromým životem je již řadu let jedním z politických cílů EU, protože má zásadní význam z hlediska zajištění udržitelnosti práce pro všechny.

EU context

Dne 26. dubna 2017 předložila Komise balíček týkající se evropského pilíře sociálních práv. Ten zahrnuje i iniciativu na podporu rovnováhy mezi pracovním a soukromým životem rodičů a pečujících osob. Cílem této iniciativy je řešit nedostatečné zastoupení žen na trhu práce a upozorňuje na řadu nových nebo zlepšených minimálních pravidel pro rodičovskou, otcovskou a pečovatelskou dovolenou.

Sběr údajů

Průzkum kvality života v Evropě nadace Eurofound poskytuje srovnání mezi zeměmi v oblasti sladění pracovního a rodinného života, pružné úpravy pracovní doby a poskytování kvalitní péče. Evropské průzkumy společností poskytují údaje o tom, z jakého důvodu a jak společnosti využívají širokou škálu různých úprav pracovní doby. Průzkum pracovních podmínek v Evropě zkoumá úpravu pracovní doby v EU a související otázky, včetně pružné úpravy pracovní doby, preferencí souvisejících s pracovní dobou a rovnováhou mezi pracovním a soukromým životem.

Evropská observatoř pracovního života (EurWORK) poskytuje informace o pracovních podmínkách a udržitelné práci, včetně databáze mezd, pracovní doby a kolektivních sporů. Nadace Eurofound rovněž provedla odhad hospodářských a sociálních nákladů rozdílů v zaměstnanosti žen a mužů a nabízí informace o vytvoření zaměstnání v pečovatelských službách.

23. prosince 2016 – Toto vydání tematických dokumentů (Foundation Focus) se zaměřuje na rovnováhu mezi pracovním a soukromým životem a některé činitele, které pomáhají pracovníkům při sladění pracovního a mimopracovního života, a které jim naopak brání. Vzhledem k tomu, že průměrná délka pracovní doby trvale klesá, klade si otázku, zde je rovnováha mezi pracovním a soukromým životem stále důležitá. Jak může být v této souvislosti prospěšná směrnice o pracovní době a jakou úlohu mohou sehrát politiky v oblasti flexibilní pracovní doby? Jaké konkrétní podpory potřebují ti, kdo mají odpovědnost za péči o děti nebo dospělé? Rovnováha mezi pracovním a soukromým životem souvisí s dalšími hledisky života, včetně potřeby vysoce kvalitní péče o děti, řešení rozdílů v zaměstnanosti žen a mužů a opatření pro starší pracovníky, kteří nemohou pracovat na plný pracovní úvazek.
