Spanish presidency 2023: Eurofound's contribution
From July to December 2023, Eurofound supported the work of Spain's presidency of the Council of the EU, providing valuable research results on specific topics linked with the presidency priorities.

Eurofound contributed to a range of different meetings and events, providing expertise in the areas of employment, social and work-related policies and preparing supporting documentation as requested by the presidency. See some examples of our contributions below.
Feeding into the programme development for this event, research manager Daniel Molinuevo speaks at the opening plenary session to present the findings of the policy analysis around trends and disparities in children’s access to early childhood education and care, education, healthcare, nutrition and housing.
Eurofound Executive Director Ivailo Kalfin participates in a panel looking at what skills will be required for employment in a changing world, and changing global labour market. On request by the Spanish presidency, Eurofound also prepared a background paper as a basis for the discussion.
Eurofound Research Manager Ricardo Rodríguez Contreras contributes expertise and analysis on request from EMCO, presenting on the implications of the green transition for employment relations and working conditions.

This meeting addresses the future of work. It covers the broad topic in three thematic panels – on democracy at work; artificial intelligence, algorithms and work; and green collective bargaining. Eurofound’s Executive Director, Ivailo Kalfin, participates in the second panel, looking at the relationship between artificial intelligence, algorithms and work.
